Fontanaro Farm produces one of the best Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Italy. Every year we have been awarded gold medals at New York, London, Berlin and, Jerusalem International Olive Oil Competition. We are also rated as the Best Italian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Italy by Gambero Rosso and Slow Food Guide where we have achieved the “Snail” in Umbria.

The olive mill at Fontanaro is powered by solar panels and the residuals go to the soil to become fertilizer, this is why our farm is not only organic but also ecological. Our olive mill is a state of the heart, by TEM Toscana Enologica Mori (one of the top technology and excellent olive mill).
Il Fontanaro organic extra virgin olive oil is a blend of our local olives varieties as in the DOP of Colli del Trasimeno. The blend of Il Fontanaro EVOO is made by Moraiolo, Leccino, Frantoio, Dolce Agogia and Pendolino.
The oil obtained has a fruity taste with bitter and spicy notes and a colour that goes from green to yellow gold.
We harvest in early October since our target is to reach the best quality and we do so controlling all phases of the process: from the manual harvesting (following the old tradition) to the pressing of the olives in our own technically advanced mill.
We press the olives within 4 hours from their harvesting, this is the most important element to obtain the top quality and the highest nutritional benefits and flavor.
The Harvest 2020 has obtained an excellent olive oil with the following qualities:
- acids 0.05% p/p
- peroxides 2 Meq o2/Kg
- polyphenols 250 mg/kg
