The Bassan farm extends in the municipality of Pompeiana, a typical Ligurian village located in the Riviera di Ponente at 200 m above sea level, which is only 8 km from Sanremo.
In total the olive groves reach a surface of 3 hectares with about 1000 plants of Taggiasca cultivar.
Some of them are located on the outskirts of the village, at 200 m above sea level in the enchanting region called Costa Panera, from which you can enjoy a suggestive view of the sea and where there is also the ancient Tower of Panei, built in the 16th century as a defense against the raids of Saracen pirates.
Other olive groves instead extend in the region called Le Chiuse, at a higher altitude (about 350 m a.s.l.), inside an area of particular naturalistic value (SIC: site of community importance).
Here runs the route of the Liguria path, which starts from Ventimiglia and goes up to Luni, reaching the beginning of the Via Francigena, and where lives the rare Ocellated Lizard (Timon lepidus), the largest among the European ones, which can in fact reach 60 cm in length.
