The Azienda Agricola D’Assisi has been producing for more than a century extra-virgin olive oil of superb quality by using solely olives grown in its family owned olive grapes lying on the soft slopes of the hills of Sannio Beneventano.
The Azienda takes pride in using only environmentally friendly techniques in the entire processing cycle and in honoring the legacy of the rural tradition: the commitment to this culture of quality lends to the oil “Gocce di Natura” unique organoleptic features.
The company produces 3 lines of extra-virgin olive oils:
The olive picking process, even if facilitated by mechanical aids, is entirely manual so to preserve the highest integrity of the fruit. The freshly picked olives are stored in containers with holes, in order to ensure proper ventilation of the fruits and avoid principles of fermentation that would alter the final product. The grinding of the olives takes place in certified oil mills within eight hours from the picking and the oil is obtained with a continuous-cycle cold extraction process.
The oil is stocked in special stainless steel tanks emptied of air, placed in ventilated rooms kept at a constant temperature, in order to preserve the quality of the product.
It gets bottled only upon receiving of presence of orders.
The Azienda relies on the expert advice and support of a seasoned team of agronomists and it participates a series of programs issued by the European Community, a prestige that guarantees the Traceability of the extra-virgin olive oil (CSQA international traceability code: TBNT3, in compliance with UNI EN ISO 22005:2008).
The Azienda produces certified biological extra-virgin olive oil (organic operator Suolo e Salute code: IT BIO 006 T1429) from 2012.

The Azienda Agricola is owned and operated by the D’Assisi family.
Italian olive growing, with its immense heritage of olive trees, farmers and olive-pressers that populate the peninsula right down to the southernmost islands, is experiencing a moment of extreme difficulty. The crisis is linked to the process of industrialization of olive cultivation, with the creation of new mechanized machinery and increasingly technological processes, oils of quality less competitive. The age of olive trees, hundreds or even thousands of years old, spread across the peninsula, further contribute to making the production of Italian extra virgin olive oil more demanding and costly. Thus, the market, oriented towards the lowest price, increasingly rewards low quality oils. For this reason Slow Food has created a national Presidium that promotes the environmental, aesthetic, economic, and health value of Italian extra virgin olive oil. It is a national project because producers of extra virgin all over Italy, in different areas of production, face the same crisis.
