1. Is Terra Madre Salone del Gusto happening this year?
Yes, but not in its usual form. The 13th edition of Terra Madre Salone del Gusto will be global, physical and digital, in a completely renewed format.
So first, the bad news: due to the restrictions to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be no big market at Lingotto Fiere in Turin, Italy, the beating heart of all past editions. Nor will be able to bring delegates from the Slow Food network worldwide to participate in in-person forums, conferences, or any other kind of event involving mass congregation. In the hope that the situation will have improved and that both international travel and mass events will be possible by the spring of 2021, we have postponed the Slow Food International Congress—which was planned to take place simultaneously alongside Terra Madre Salone del Gusto—until April 2021.
But! Terra Madre Salone del Gusto is still going ahead, albeit in a different form. We’ll be hosting a rich calendar of activities, both online and offline, all over the world, over a six-month period starting on October 8, 2020, and continuing until April 2021 and the Slow Food International Congress. These include some of our classic events (Taste Workshops and Dinner Dates held at Eataly, Turin, for those who are able to participate physically, though they’ll also be streamed online), a wide range of digital activities (including our Conferences, Forums, and educational activities) and, where possible, we’re inviting the Slow Food network worldwide to host their own events in their local areas, which will form part of the worldwide festival calendar. Last of all, we’re planning an online marketplace where our exhibitors will be able to sell their products to the public.

2. Are there tickets for Terra Madre Salone del Gusto?
The short answer is no, there is no entrance ticket; most of the events in the program are free to access. The only exceptions are the Taste Workshops and Dinner Dates, which are ticketed events. Some of the video content we’re producing will only be available to registered users of the website, but creating an account is absolutely free.
3. Will the physical events also be available online?
The Taste Workshops will also be available in streaming, but only in Italy. The reason is the difficulty ensuring the delivery of a kit containing the products to be tasted. But within Italy you can follow a Taste Workshop from home by purchasing a kit that will contain the same products that the live audience will be tasting, and a link to follow the event in streaming.Read the terms and conditions of sale
4. Is it possible to participate in Taste Workshops from outside Italy?
For the time being no, it is not envisaged that we will be able to ensure participation outside Italy, due to the difficulties in ensuring the delivery of the tasting kit.
5. Will there be other Taste Workshops or Dinners beyond those already published on the website?
Yes. We are planning on hosting more Workshops and Dinners, details of which will be available soon. And we’re encouraging our network to host their own workshops and social meals, where possible; these events will also be added to the worldwide festival calendar.
6. Is there a discount for Slow Food members for ticketed events!
Yes! Simply log-in to the website using your membership credentials and you will be eligible for a discount on ticketed events.
7. Who can host events as part of the Terra Madre Salone del Gusto program?
Any Slow Food community, convivium, chapter or other related group is welcome to propose an event as part of the Terra Madre Salone del Gusto program: We’re open for submissions! The registration form for events is available in multiple languages and for further information or questions you can write to firstname.lastname@example.org — the most important thing is that your event contributes to the objectives set out in the Slow Food Call to Action: An Urgent Call to Slow Down.
