Marie Haga, Vice-President of IFAD, greets the international community of Terra Madre, and in particular the communities of Indigenous Terra Madre, on the opening of the digital platform where much of this year’s festival is held.
Terra Madre is not simply a biennial event but a unique space for dialog among representatives of food-producing communties from around the world. To learn, to share, to inspire and be inspired, and to raise awareness of the importance of our food for our health, our planet and our future. This edition takes place over the course of six months and aims to reach a greater number of people than ever before. IFAD enthusiastically joins us in taking on this challenge, with a specific focus on the empowerment of indigenous communites.
