The Palace of di Venaria, a masterpiece of royal architecture and UNESCO World Heritage site just outside Turin, celebrates Terra Madre Salone del Gusto with a special day in its marvelous gardens.
Starting at 11 a.m. you can visit the Potager Royal (the largest in Italy, over 10 hectares in size!) accompanied by Palace guides and Slow Food botanists.
At 12 p.m., the gardens in front of the Diana Room host a concert by the Terra Madre Orchestra: an international art and music community directed by Simone Campa, which on this occasion features 10 musicians from Africa, India, Europe, South America and the Middle East. A cosmopolitan ensemble that thanks to music, the universal language, makes intercultural exchange easy and fun.
There’ll also be producers from the Slow Food network offering tastings of their specialties, and at 1 p.m. there’ll be a musical aperitivo uniting the producers with the Orchestra.
The cafeteria of the Palace will also be offering food made with ingredients selected by Slow Food.
This event is in collaboration with Fondazione Via Maestra.
The workshops and guided tours are free but must reserved in advance by calling +39 011 4992333.
