The objective of this event is to strenghten cooperation at a local level to achieve a sustainable management of forest and the Mirna River and promote the Slow Food movement.
Local producers will be invited to take part in the event and participants will be able to taste Istrian olive oils and local beers. Honey, truffles, juices, marmelades as well as liqueurs and brandies produced locally will also be available. The Slow Food Istria Community will talk about its activities and the main scope of the event will be the presentation of the “Mushrooms of the River Mirna Basin“ book written by Josip Marino Simic, member of the Mediterranean Model Forest Association Steering Committee. This will be followed by a cooking class on various mushroom dishes prepared respecting the Slow Food philosophy. During the event, we will also link with the “Model Forests of the Mediterranean Model Forest Network: Community, Products, Management” online forum.
