How to influence policies in a city: the example of Cittàslow.

Slow Food Reykjavík is organizing an online seminar to talk about the approach of the Cittàslow system. The experience of the city of Ulvik (Norway) will be presented, where local authorities have been encouraged to be more sustainable, to provide citizens and visitors with good access to the unspoiled nature, art and culture of the place for unforgettable local gastronomic experiences.

Speakers at the meeting will be:

  • Páll Líndal, doctor of environmental psychology
  • Greta Mjöll Samúelsdóttir and Gauti Jóhannesson, citizens of Djúpivogur, the first Cittàslow in Iceland
  • Ingólfur Sigfússon, member of the council of the island of Hrísey (Iceland), which is in the process of applying to become a Cittàslow
  • Pål Drönen and Hans Petter Thorbjornsen from Ulvik, a Cittàslow in the Hardanger Fjord in Norway

The meeting will be held in Icelandic and streamed on Slow Food Reykjavík’s Facebook page.
