Mint belongs to the Lamiaceae family and it’s a perennial herb. It can be used for its aromatic or medicinal qualities, as well as in the preparation of teas and cocktails. It’s also a repellant against harmful insects, while it attracts pollinators: a plant of multiple benefits!

Mint can reproduce both asexually and sexually; the later implies the growth of a seed, but the seed is very small and difficult to obtain, so it’s easier to cultivate mint using mature plants and the vegetative (asexual) method.

All of this useful information comes from young horticulturalist Ira. Follow her for more everyday gardening tips!

How It’s Made is a new format for Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2020. They are accessible for free on this site!
