Bees and other pollinating insects play an essential role in biodiversity and agriculture and their gradual disappearance is irreparably undermining our environment.
The title of the online debate will be “Save the bees. Save the bees! Save our planet!”. The event will be attended by:
- Dr. Fiorella Belpoggi (scientific director of the Ramazzini Institute in Bologna)
- Dario Dongo (journalist and expert in food law at European and international level)
- Guido Cortese (professional beekeeper and founder of the “Slow Food Urban Beekeepers Community”)
- Elisa Mussio (EU Campaign and Communication Manager of PAN – Pesticide Action Network)
The debate will address the problem of bee deaths, the link between agriculture and climate, damage from pesticides, endocrine disruptors and, last but not least, the role of consumers for a possible and responsible change. The debate will be moderated by Elena Bosani, with an opening address by Dr Maria Mazza, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Cologne.
Event organised by the Community of Metropolitan Pollinators, Italia Altrove Frankfurt, Italia Altrove Madrid and Italia Altrove Düsseldorf, PAN EU, Egalitè, Istituto Ramazzini.
